Over the past several months, we've been focused on strengthening the foundation of DataJelly: improving reliability, simplifying onboarding, expanding our scanning capabilities, and making the platform easier to understand and operate in real-world production environments.
As more domains and applications have been onboarded, we've learned a lot — both about how modern JavaScript and AI-generated sites behave in the wild, and about where our own systems needed improvement. Along the way, we uncovered edge cases, bugs, and UX friction points that only surface once a system is under real load.
In short:
Over the last several months, we focused on stabilizing and upgrading DataJelly's core infrastructure. This includes major improvements to DNS onboarding, edge rendering performance, SEO and security scanning depth, AI SEO (GEO) analysis, and overall dashboard usability.
Key highlights:
- New public guides, free SEO tools, and a platform explainer video
- Redesigned Domain Details page with manual snapshot refresh
- Major DNS pipeline and onboarding improvements
- Faster, more reliable edge routing and proxy services
- SEO scanner expanded to 100+ test cases
- Security scanner expanded with clearer logging and dashboards
- New bot traffic monitoring views
- New AI SEO (GEO) scanning and reporting
- Full support for IP-based and non-standard hosting setups
Full details below.
Expanded Guides, Resources, and Free Tools
We've invested time in documenting what we're seeing across the platform and turning those learnings into practical resources.
This includes new public guides such as Lovable SEO 101 and an AI SEO (GEO) guide, which explain how JavaScript-heavy and AI-built sites interact with search engines and generative search systems in practice — not just theory.
In addition to guides, we launched a growing set of free tools, including:
- SSL certificate checks
- DNS record inspection tools
- Basic SEO utilities
These tools are designed to be useful even if you're not yet a DataJelly customer.
To help explain what DataJelly does end-to-end, we also released a new explainer video on the homepage that walks through the problem space and our approach.
New Domain Details Page
The domain details page has been redesigned to surface more actionable information in one place.
You can now:
- Review the latest snapshot and scan results per domain
- Inspect SEO, security, and GEO findings more easily
- Manually trigger snapshot refreshes when needed
This page is intended to be the operational hub for each domain rather than just a passive status view.
DNS Pipeline and Onboarding Improvements
A significant portion of recent work went into upgrading our DNS infrastructure and simplifying the onboarding experience.
DNS is foundational to how DataJelly operates, and earlier iterations were simply too complex and fragile for the wide variety of real-world setups we encountered. The new DNS pipeline is:
- More reliable
- Easier to reason about
- Better aligned with how domains are actually configured in production
This reduces onboarding friction and makes ongoing operations more predictable.
Edge Routing and Proxy Service Upgrades
The core network that powers server-side rendering — including our edge routing and proxy services — has been substantially upgraded.
These changes improve:
- Rendering speed
- Request routing reliability
- Snapshot consistency across regions
The result is faster snapshot generation and more dependable delivery of prerendered HTML to bots and crawlers.
SEO Scanner and Dashboard Enhancements
The SEO scanning system has been expanded and improved across both the scanning engine and the dashboard experience.
Each snapshot now runs through 100+ SEO test cases, covering technical SEO fundamentals as well as JavaScript- and rendering-specific issues. Results have been updated to include clearer explanations, better context, and more actionable feedback rather than raw pass/fail signals.
Security Scanner Improvements
We've also made a major investment in security scanning.
The number of security test cases has increased significantly, logging has been improved for clarity, and dashboard views have been updated to make issues easier to understand and prioritize.
Every snapshot now runs through a much more robust security analysis pipeline, helping surface misconfigurations, risky patterns, and potential exposure earlier.
Bot Traffic Monitoring
A new bot monitoring view has been added to the dashboard.
This page shows detected bot traffic hitting your site, broken out between:
- SEO and search engine bots
- Other automated crawlers and tools
It provides visibility into who is actually accessing your site and how frequently, which is often opaque with traditional setups.
AI SEO (GEO) Scanning
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), sometimes referred to as AI SEO, is becoming increasingly important as search evolves.
We've added a dedicated GEO scanning layer that evaluates snapshots for AI-search visibility and compliance. Any issues identified are surfaced directly in the dashboard alongside traditional SEO and security findings.
Full Support for IP-Based and Non-Standard Hosting
We've completed full onboarding support for IP-based domains and non-standard hosting configurations.
This means DataJelly can now support virtually any hosting provider or architecture, significantly expanding compatibility for custom setups and edge cases.
Looking Ahead
DataJelly is infrastructure software, and that means stability, correctness, and transparency matter more than flashy features. The updates above represent a meaningful step forward in making the platform more robust, understandable, and production-ready.
Thank you to everyone who has been patient, provided feedback, and helped stress-test the system in real environments. If you have questions, issues, or suggestions, feel free to reach out — every message is read.
